The Film Studies minor offers students the opportunity to select an interdisciplinary program of study that examines the many facets of American and international film. The program allows students to experience different approaches to film study, including film theory, film history, film aesthetics, national cinemas, and cultural differences.
Students pursuing the Film Studies minor should work with their advisor to select a program of study from the following list of approved courses:
Please note that courses on this list may not be offered every semester. Contact the specific department for more information on when a course is being offered.
During some semesters, a department may also offer Special Topics courses dealing with aspects of film studies. Some of these courses may be approved for the Film Studies minor. Please be sure to contact the College of Motion Picture Arts before registering for a Special Topics course to confirm whether the course will count for the minor.
